Balance-checked to the cent

Every file is added up and compared with the balances printed on the statement. A missed row can’t slip through.

How it works

Three steps. No upload.

The converter runs in your browser tab. Switch off your Wi-Fi after the page loads and it still works.

  1. 01

    Drop your PDF

One statement or a year of them. Bank and credit card statements both work.

  2. 02

    We read every row

Dates, descriptions and amounts are pulled out, then checked against the statement’s own balances.

  3. 03

    Download and import

Excel, CSV, QBO, OFX, QFX, Xero or Tally, in the exact layout your software expects.

The balance check

Off by $12.40? You’ll know before you import.

Most converters hand you a spreadsheet and hope. We add up every row and compare the result with the opening and closing balances printed on your statement.

If they don’t match to the cent, we show the difference and the page where the gap probably is, so you fix it now instead of finding it during reconciliation.

FAQ

Questions bookkeepers ask us

Is my bank statement uploaded anywhere?
No. Text PDFs are read by code running in your browser, and the file never reaches our servers. Scanned PDFs are the only exception: they need OCR, so we ask first and delete them within an hour. How we handle your data.
What does “balanced” mean?
We add up every transaction we found and compare the result with the opening and closing balances printed on your statement. If they match to the cent, the file is balanced. If not, we show the difference and the page where the gap probably is.
Can I import the file into QuickBooks Online?
Yes. Download the QBO (Web Connect) file, then in QuickBooks Online go to Transactions → Bank transactions → Upload transactions. QuickBooks Desktop takes the same file through File → Utilities → Import → Web Connect files.
Which banks work?
Any bank that gives you a text PDF, which is almost all of them. The reader is tested on layouts from US, UK, Canadian, Australian and Indian banks, and the balance check tells you if anything was missed. See the list.
Does it work with scanned or photographed statements?
Not yet. A scanned PDF has no text to read, so it needs OCR on a server. That is being built for paid plans: it will ask before sending each file and delete it within an hour. Statements downloaded from online banking are text PDFs and work today.
Can I convert credit card statements?
Yes. Credit card statements work the same way, with charges and payments mapped to the right sign for your software.
Why not just copy and paste from the PDF?
Copying usually breaks columns, merges lines and drops minus signs. Even when it looks right, nothing tells you if a row went missing. The balance check does.
